    Midi Pitch Bend

Unlike FL Studio, Cakewalk doesn't have a sampler track where you can dump an 808 single shot sample into the channel rack and then trigger it at different notes with slide enabled. This is one feature that FL made incredibly simple. How to pitch bend 808’s. The MIDI pitch bend message is a way to communicate how much pitch shifting is supposed to happen at any given point in time. A synthesizer (software or hardware) receiving a pitch bend message is supposed to change the pitch of all current notes being played by the given amount.

Ok, so my pitch wheel is not working as it should when i load kontakt as a vst to fl studio. I have ran it in stand alone and the wheel bends up or down just fine, but when i put it into fl studio, the wheel moves very little and the pitch bend it sends out is almost unnoticeable. I have ran two different programs to see if it was my keyboard and it responds just fine.

It also bends and registers just fine in fl studio, my only problem is when i insert kontakt as third party into fl studio, this problem occurs. The pitch wheel only moves about 1/8 of the full range up or down even though i am really moving it all the way up or all the down on my keyboard. I have tried moving the pitch parameters under options and i'll get the sound i want but thats not my problem. I want my wheel to register the complete motion i make it do. (this problem is also exactly the same with FM8)can anyone please help me with this?if its any help, i use an akai mpk25 with FL studio 10 along with Kontakt 4.

And, many VSTs don't let you set a range, or don't let you set an uneven range (I prefer -12/+2 for synth solos in my keyboard rig, but most of the VSTs I run don't support that), so you may be stuck at -2/+2 for some instruments no matter what. The reason for this is that pitch bend, as defined in the MIDI spec, is a code to indicate that you're sending a pitch bend message on a particular MIDI channel plus a value from 0 to 16383 (8192 is the middle point and means nothing is bending). It's up to each instrument to decide how to map those values to pitch.
